DraftSight 2024 allows you to bring in CATIA Drawing files (.CATDrawing) by importing them.
If you’re using the desktop version, you can choose to install CATIA Drawing Import during setup. For platform versions, CATIA Drawing is readily available.
Upon importing a CATIA drawing into DraftSight, the software converts it into a DWG file and presents it within the graphics area.
Here’s how to import CATIA drawing files:
- From the Drafting and Annotation ribbon tab, select Import > CATIA Drawing.
- Alternatively, type IMPORTCATDRAWING in the command window.
- A dialog box will appear listing CATDrawing files. Choose the desired file and click OK to open it.
- You can also drag a CATIA drawing file from 3DSpace or 3DDrive directly into the graphics area. The software will convert it to a DWG file and open it in DraftSight.
