Let say an example you had open an Assembly. Then you had created Front View, Side View and an Isometric View.
Now we would like to apply and control the BreakOut View.
- Ensure that Front View is active. Click on the Break Out View icon and draw a close profile on the Front view as the image shown.
2. It will pop up a 3D Viewer window. You may control the depth of the cut out by dragging the plane on the 3D viewer. However you may specifically control the position of the cut out by highlighting the Reference element box and select any specific edge or line on the Side View as reference.
3. You can see that the plane had been adjusted to the edge that we selected form the side view. We also can further adjust the position by giving a value on the Depth, let say for this example we enter 30mm. You may see that the cut out plane had adjusted to 30mm from the earlier selected reference. Click OK.
4. Now you can see that the BreakOut view had been to the Front View. You may observe that some component had not been cut, this is because it was the properties setting within assembly and you may refer this in our previous post.
5. Now we want to apply the BreakOut to other view. Right Click on the Front View view frame >> Front view object >> Apply Breakout To
and select the Isometric View view frame.
6. Now you can see that the BreakOut had been applied to the Isometric View. and the position and orientation are exactly as what we had control and set on the Front View.
