Complex corners are used at the position where three or more members intersect.
There are several trim types available:
- Body trim. Conforms the intersecting member to the shape of adjacent faces by adding or removing material.
- Planar trim. Cuts the intersecting member with a plane at first contact or full contact.
Planar trim options:
– First contact planar trim. Trims the member when it first comes into contact with adjoining faces.
– Full contact planar trim. Trims the member flush with adjoining faces.
There are also additional options in the PropertyManager:
- Trim tool member. Defines the tool body for all other members. Conforms the intersecting member to the shape of adjacent faces by adding or removing material.
- Trim Order. Increases or decreases the trim order of the members. The Up and Down arrows are used to define the tool body for all the other members. This conforms the intersecting member to the shape of adjacent faces by adding or removing material.
- Trim Tool.
– Automatic. Trims the target based on the selection of planar trim options.
– User Defined. Lets you select the face or plane to trim. - Gap. Adds a gap between members at specific corners.
- Allow Extension. Select to extend or trim structural members. Clear to allow only trimming. When using this option, verify the preview carefully to ensure that the results are correct.
