On normal operation, SolidNetwork Licence Manager (SNL) allow user to take out SOLIDWORKS license off the network, making it, as if it was a Standalone license.
But, some company may restrict that their SOLIDWORKS usage is only allowed within company premises, and their designer doesn’t allow to bring back their work at home or outside the company.
To disable such feature, SNL need to be run with an “option file” to trigger certain command to overwrite SNL normal protocol.
This “option file” can be created with any text editor such as Microsoft Notepad, and the extension need to save as “*.opt”
The command/syntax should be as follow to disable license borrowing:
BORROW_LOWWATER (Feature)(Quantity)
(Feature) : type of SOLIDWORK license, Standard,Profesional, Premium
(Quantity) : the amount on license will be excluded from borrowing at the available license pool.
For example, a company have in total 4 SOLIDWORKS Standard License
“BORROW_LOWWATER SOLIDWORKS 2” will always keep 2 licenses on the server that cannot be borrowed, another 2 will allow to bring back to work from home.
