There are several steps to create broken-out section in SOLIDWORKS drawing.
Step 1, open a part file and then click make drawing from part.
Step 2, drag the front view from the view palette and drop it onto the drawing as shown.
Step 3, click broken-out section and draw a spline.
Step 4, select the edge.
Done
