Adding a new custom coordinate system is useful to measure the center of mass from other locations or to move and align the imported file into a proper location (refer:How to align part body).
To add a new coordinate system proceed to the command manager Features –> Reference Geometry –> Coordinate system
On the Coordinate system settings located at the left side pane, it consists of 4 selections. Origin point, X, Y, and Z-axis.
Choose one of the vertex points on the part that will be defined as origin. Then the X and Y-axis reference edges. Optionally, you may include the Z-axis as well.
You may also change the axis direction by clicking on the ‘reverse button’. Click OK once the process is done.
The new coordinate system feature will be added to the feature manager design tree. Hence, you may use the ‘edit feature’ to edit the information or delete the command to remove it.
In case the coordinate system is not visible on the design area, you may show it by activating the ‘view coordinate system’ on the Hide/Show item command.
