- Complex profile cross section can be stretch vertically or horizontally. However, it will involve the whole profile as shown in the video.
- As you can see, as I stretch the beam vertically or horizontally, it will not only involve the width and the height of the beam, but also involve the thickness of the flanges and web which we do not want to happen in most cases. To make our complex profile parametric according to our preference, we need to add modifiers at certain parts of our profile.
- Here is the step-by-step on how to make our complex profile parametric:

- Select your complex profile, right click, and open the edit profile mode.
- Add as many modifiers as needed by clicking the new modifier button at the bottom left corner under the modifier tab.
- After adding each modifiers, make sure to assign the required edges and/or points.
- Save the changes made.
- The video below shows the process and as you can see at the end of the video, the thickness of the flanges and web will remain the same unless you want to change them. This feature can also be applied for other complex profiles such as wall, slab, column, object, and railing.
