Note: This fix requires modifying your computer registry. If you are not familiar with modifying it, please refer to your VAR/IT department/specialist.
This error usually happens when a computer have multiple software to deal with PDF, typically a combination of adobe reader, adobe acrobat and foxit.
Fix :
- Open your registry using the regedit.exe command.
- navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Solidworks\Applications\PDMWorks Enterprise\FileFormats\.pdf.
- You will see 3 registry value, which are “default”, “4”, and “8”.
- Double Click on “4” to modify. You will something like this:
” HtmlPlugin.dll@AcroPDF.PDF
HtmlPlugin.dll@FoxitReader.Document
InsoPlugin.dll”. - Delete the first 2 lines so it looks like this:
“InsoPlugin.dll”. - Close your registry. You will need to either restart explorer.exe through the task manager or restart your PC.
