When assembling components, normally we could see from demo that the user easily mate the parts by using shortcut during selection. For example, using CTRL button to select entities to mates, then the mate type list will appear.
Some of the user might encounter the list is not appearing even though they have use the CTRL button to select entities. This is due to some setting that is not enable inside SolidWorks. To enable that:
Right-click on any tab in the Command Manager and then select Customize..
In the toolbars tab, you need to check all the options on the Context toolbars:
With this enabled, the quick mates during selection will appear everytime you select more than one entities
