To share your models to your customers easily without any software installation, you can take advantage of SOLIDWORKS EDrawing to export your design in a HTML file which can be opened and viewed on any modern browser. Here are the steps to do so:
- The first step is from solidworks export the file you wish to share to EDrawings. Using the file menus go to File > publish to Edrawings.
- On save to EDrawings dialog, you can specify additional settings and also select which configurations to publish and you can specify a password for the file to prevent unintended access.
- Is the options you can also select the option to decide whether it is allowed to measure the dimensions of the design. Once satisfy with the settings click on ok to publish the design.
- Once the design is done publishing to eDrawing, we will save it as a web file by selecting File > Save as and selecting the file type as eDrawing Web HTML file.
- Based on the solidworks exporting settings, if you have enabled measurement, you can select whether to allow the measure function in the final web file. Select any settings applicable and save the file to a desired location.
- Once the file is done saving, to view the file you will only need to have a web browser installed to open and view the file.
- With this the file is able to be shared to your customers to view and have a better look on the final design.
