Copy with Mates tool can be used when inserting components using the same mating technique to new location during Assembly process.
Where is Copy with Mates tool?
- Insert Menu –> Component –> Copy with Mates
- Assembly Tool Bar –> Insert Components drop-down –> Copy with Mates
- Right-click a component and choose Copy with Mates
The Assembly consist 2 main part : Plank and Base. Plank part need to be copied to complete the assembly.
Plank part is located 70mm from the top of Base.
Right-click the Plank in the FeatureManager Design Tree and choose Copy with Mates. The Copy with Mates PropertyManager appears with the Plank listed in the Selected Components list.
Select Next button.
The next page shows the list of mates being copied from the original shelf. The first coincident mate box is highlighted, as well as the faces used in the mate for reference. The face highlighted in purple is the target face.
Clicking Repeat auto-populates the field with the same face used in the original mate and highlights the next coincident mate box.
As for Distance1, the value need to be add in 70 mm increment to create a symmetry part or we can input our own value.
Please ensure to change the value for each operation or the part will be overlap.
Press OK ( Green check mark) to continue adding new part. Repeat until the assembly is completed. To exit the tool, press Esc key.
