In this example, the part is created using the MMGS unit system, and the geometry is modeled in millimeters. However, the measurement shown in the status bar appears in inches instead of millimeters.
This happens when the Measure tool is configured to use inches, even though the document unit system is set to MMGS. The status bar displays values based on the Measure tool’s unit settings, not solely on the document units.
How to Verify the Unit Setting:
-
Open the Measure tool.
-
Click Units/Precision.
-
In the Measure Units/Precision tab, check the Length Unit setting.
-
If it is set to Inches, measurements will appear in inches.
-
Alternatively, selecting Use document settings will automatically match the file’s current unit system.
-
Change the Length Unit from Inches to Millimeters, or enable Use document settings.
Once updated, the status bar will display measurements in mm, consistent with the MMGS unit system.
